East Tower LLC announces that it will be celebrating the holidays with a Magical Holiday exhibition. The doors open at 10 am. until 3pm. December 5th, 2015.
Please join us for coffee, hot chocolate, cookies and a reading of “A Tiffin Christmas Story” at 1:00 pm by Santa himself in Celebration of Tiffin’s Winterfest.
Mr. and Mrs. Claus will be sharing the story of Tiffin’s Downtown Past, Present & Future. They will bring a bag full of holiday goodies, wish list postcards for children to mail to Santa and candy canes.
The event will also feature a special exhibition entitled, “Our Downtown: Past, Present, & Future,” which will take place in the partially restored first floor of the East Tower. Enlargements of over 80 photographs and artists’ renderings will highlight a 100- year span from downtown Tiffin. A former classroom is dedicated to each time period: past, present and future.
The “Future” room in the exhibit gives a sneak preview of renderings borrowed from the Downtown Strategic Growth & Development Plan, authored by the Gossman Group for SIEDC as agent for the City of Tiffin. When completed this study will recommend various development ideas and plans for a greatly revitalized downtown Tiffin. Although the plan is still in draft form, the pictorial renderings and maps to be displayed in the “Future” room during the East Tower exhibition highlight the vision, if not a possible plan, for the future of downtown Tiffin. Additionally, conceptual floor plans of the East Tower as a government office building will be exhibited.
A new addition to the exhibit is The Memorandum of Understanding between the City of Tiffin and Seneca County. “This letter of intent expresses a common desire of the City of Tiffin and Seneca County to quickly work towards a comprehensive series of downtown development projects both agree will have a positive and substantial impact on the community…”
